The seventh Community Awards of Mayfair & St James’s took place in March at the Grosvenor House hotel to recognise those making a positive contribution to life in Mayfair and St James’s.

Jeremy King (Corbin & King) picked up the Lifetime Achievement award, while other winners were: At Your Service: Shoe Shine Service (Romi Topi) in Burlington Arcade; Only in St James’s: Jermyn Street Theatre; Hospitality Hero: Joanne Taylor-Stagg (Athenaeum); Friend of the Earth: Greenr; Long Service: Gillian Stevens (Nelson’s Pharmacy); Commercial Newcomer: Sook; Unsung Hero: David Nethery (street sweeper in St James’s); Only in Mayfair: Hedonism; Putting Something Back: Henrik Muehle (Flemings Mayfair); New Technology: Slerp; and Bright Young Thing: Spencer Metzger (The Ritz).TV presenter, journalist and entrepreneur Andrea McLean was presenter for the evening and, alongside canapés from the Grosvenor House, guests were treated to champagne from The Arts Club, cocktails by The Maine Mayfair, chocolates from Prestat, cheese from Paxton & Whitfield and pampering by Spa Illuminata. Entertainment was courtesy of the Young Guns house band and, at the end of the evening, guests left with goody bags from Fortnum & Mason.This year’s esteemed panel of judges were journalist and chef/owner of Jikoni, Ravinder Bhogal; actor, writer, comedian and TV presenter Stephen Fry; supermodel, entrepreneur and founder of David Gandy Wellwear, David Gandy; director of UK retail at Fortnum & Mason, Sean Ghouse; restaurateur Jeremy King (who abstained from voting in the Lifetime Achievement category); CEO of The Arts Club, Remy Lyse; and secretary and chief executive of the Royal Academy of Arts, Axel Rüger.
