Shop around the Clock

CEO John Hoyle smiling with occupiers in Sook Oxford Street

Business owners from the MADE IN AFRICA collective join pop-up space boss John Hoyle to show how he is giving empty shops a new lease of life by offering rent by the day. John founded Sook which allows tenants to rent retail space as needed.

It has ten sites with five more opening by the end of the year and charges an affordable rate for a Monday morning on London's Oxford Street. Shops are being snapped up by start-ups and charities.

Ex Love-Island star Montana Rose Brown, used it to sell her swim society ethical swimwear.

John said "we're selling time rather than space. It lowers the barriers for smaller firms who can't afford permanent physical retail".
